But first thing first, who the heck am I? What do I know about affiliate marketing, and why should you trust me to help you build your online business?
These are all legitimate questions; you should always ask these questions before trusting ANYONE online. Doing so helps weed out scams from legit online opportunities and saves you some grief.
Let’s take a moment to explain my online journey.
It All Started in 2007… Sort of
Back in 2007, all the hype was about PPC (pay-per-click) advertising, and I was looking at the time for a way to supplement my income, so I jumped on the PPC bandwagon!
Back then, I never envisioned myself doing affiliate marketing in a million years! I have a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and have been working in research all my professional career.
But here I was in early 2007, dipping my toes into the PPC world. Suffice it to say that my first brush-off with PPC advertising was an unpleasant affair as it turned into a financial disaster! I remember promoting large solar panels for roofs, but I digress! So, let’s get back on track, shall we?
It was a different ball game back then — you didn’t need a website, only deep pockets to outbid your competitor and win the #1 spot on the page in Google!
As a newcomer within the PPC world, with NO knowledge and experience to speak of concerning PPC advertising, I ended up spending quite a lot of money, overbidding on keywords.
Moreover, to add insult to injury, I never reached the top spot on Google with my Ads! What is more, I didn’t make a penny with my PPC campaigns, as I never made a sale!
So before digging a hole too deep for me to get out of, I decided that science was a better fit for me and set aside my plans. Although, in the back of my mind, I always knew that one day I would give Affiliate marketing and PPC advertising another go.
Fast Forward To 2014…
Fast forward to early 2014, I was working in a lab, and I got laid off. I was at a loss and clueless about what to do next. One thing was for sure, I wanted to be my own boss and work from home. Affiliate marketing was, in my opinion, the only option on the table fitting all those criteria to build my business and earn an income.
So, seven years after my first brush with affiliate marketing and PPC advertising, I decided to give it another try.
However, this time around, I was determined to avoid repeating past errors. Instead, I wanted to educate myself about affiliate marketing and become an expert while earning a full-time income working from home.
I searched the Internet for a place where I could educate myself about affiliate marketing while providing all the resources and tools needed to start and grow my online business!
Well, I hit the jackpot! I found such a place, and it’s the Wealthy Affiliate platform! With the help of like-minded individuals inside the Wealthy Affiliate community, I learned the basics of setting up a website, creating content, and understanding the fundamentals of affiliate marketing.
It was quite a bumpy ride at first, with loads of ups and downs and some detours along the way. However, with some insights, strategies learned from Wealthy Affiliate, and perseverance, I began growing my business and saw success within the first 6-months of signing up! I have been part of the awesome Wealthy Affiliate community since early 2015 and have never looked back!
Since then, I have been helping folks like you inside the Wealthy Affiliate platform and here with this website, achieve online success by providing them with the help they need to get through the initial hurdles of starting an online business.
