About Click to Prosper

Learn about my journey from the science lab to the online business world, and the mission behind Click to Prosper.

If you have spent more than a week trying to learn affiliate marketing, you already know the strange feeling I am talking about.

You open a bunch of tabs, read some articles, watch a couple of videos, and somehow end up more confused than when you started.

One person swears by a method. The next person says that exact method is dead. A third tells you the only real answer is the course they happen to be selling.

About Sonia — CEO of Click To Prosper.

It is exhausting. And it is not your fault.

The make-money-online space is loud, and a lot of that noise is designed to keep you off-balance so someone can sell you the thing that will supposedly fix it. Click to Prosper exists for the opposite reason. The whole point of this site is to give you a little more clarity and a lot less chaos, so you can actually move forward instead of spinning in place.

Why This Site Exists

Most affiliate marketing advice has one of two problems. Either it assumes you have forty hours a week and a marketing degree, or it skips the hard parts entirely and promises a shortcut that does not exist.

I built this site for the person in the middle. The one with a job, a family, a few free evenings, and enough common sense to be suspicious of anything that sounds too easy.

Click to Prosper is meant to be a calmer place than that. The guides here are practical. The reviews are honest, including the parts that are not flattering. And the workflows are built around the time you actually have, not the time a full-time marketer pretends everyone has. I would rather give you one clear next step you will actually take than ten clever tactics you will never get to.

How I Think About This

I did not come to any of this from a marketing background. I spent close to twenty years in science, first in academic research and later as a chemist in the assay lab of a gold mine. A bachelor’s in biochemistry, a lot of years at a bench, and a habit of not trusting a result until I understood how it was produced.

That habit never left me, and it shapes everything on this site. When I look at a tool, a platform, or a strategy, my first instinct is to ask how it actually works and whether the claims hold up under any real scrutiny. Where is the evidence? What is being left out? Who benefits if you believe this?

That is also why I am so stubborn about realistic expectations. Science teaches you that real results take time, and that anyone promising instant outcomes is usually skipping a step or hiding one. Affiliate marketing is no different. A grounded plan you can stick with beats an exciting plan that falls apart in three weeks, every single time.

What I Learned the Hard Way

My first lesson about hype was an expensive one. Back in 2007, when pay-per-click advertising was the shiny new thing, I jumped in with no website, no experience, and a lot of confidence I had not earned. I poured money into ads, overbid on keywords I did not understand, and promoted products like rooftop solar panels without the first clue how any of it fit together. I never made a single sale. I just watched the money leave.

It stung, but it taught me something I still carry. Effort without a system is just expensive guessing. So I stepped back and stayed in science for a few more years.

Then in early 2014, I was laid off. That kind of moment forces a decision, and mine was that I wanted more control over my work and my time than a job had ever given me. This time, instead of throwing money at the first opportunity I saw, I did what my training had taught me to do. I researched, I checked the claims, and I looked for a place that would actually teach the fundamentals rather than sell me a dream.

That search led me to Wealthy Affiliate, where I started over as a complete beginner. I built my first sites slowly, made plenty of mistakes, and learned the parts nobody talks about. It was not fast, and it was not glamorous, but it was real, and it stuck. That experience is the backbone of how I teach things here.

Why Flexibility Matters to Me

This part is personal, not theoretical. A while back, I sold my house and moved to Saint-Hyacinthe, about forty-five minutes outside Montreal, to be closer to my aging parents. Their health is not what it used to be, and I wanted to be near enough to actually help.

Being able to do that, to rearrange my days around the people who matter instead of around someone else’s schedule, is the real reason I value this kind of work. Life changes quickly. Being able to adapt without asking permission means more to me than a bigger paycheck.

So when I talk about building something sustainable rather than something flashy, this is what I mean. A business that bends around your life, instead of one that swallows it.

What You’ll Find Here

Here is what you can expect when you spend time on Click to Prosper.

  • Practical guides that walk through one thing at a time, in the order you actually need it, instead of dumping everything on you at once.
  • Workflow-focused tutorials built for a few hours a week, because that is the schedule most beginners are working with.
  • Honest reviews of tools and platforms, including the trade-offs and the parts that might make you walk away.
  • Recommendations for tools that cut down overwhelm rather than add another tab to your browser.
  • Realistic expectations about time, effort, and what the early months actually look like.

If you are weighing whether the platform I learned on is right for you, my full Wealthy Affiliate review lays out the honest version, the good parts, and the limitations.

Before You Go

You do not need another voice promising you the world. You need a clear next step, and someone who will be straight with you about what it takes.

That is what I am here for. Look around, read what is useful to you, and ignore what is not. And if you ever get stuck or just want a second opinion before you spend money on something, leave a comment or reach out. I read everyone, and I will give you an honest answer.

No pressure, no pitch. Just one person who has been through the confusing part, trying to make it a little less confusing for you.
